Ballyvary Central National School is in line for a significant upgrade to its facilities, as the Department of Education approved a three-room extension to the Mayo school.
The extension is set to be a modular building comprising one mainstream classroom, as well as two additional Special Educational Needs (SEN) classrooms.

Minister of State Alan Dillon moved to congratulate the school’s principal, Carmel Heaney, in a statement.
Minister Dillon also labelled the extension a ‘welcome addition to the school community.’ The school is situated around one kilometer from the centre of the village and has an enrolment of over 200 students.
