Mayo man and sexual assault survivor Dylan Gallagher took to the sky today, Monday, March 3, in an effort to raise funds for Beyond Surviving, a charity which Mr Gallagher says is close to his heart.
Beyond Surviving is a new survivor-led organisation created and founded by fellow survivor and Mayo woman Ciara Mangan who has dedicated her work to supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and helping them find their way to healing and empowerment.
In the the bio of Dylan's GoFundMe page, he said: "For many of us, overcoming adversity can feel like an insurmountable challenge. Beyond Surviving provides vital resources, community support, and a safe space for survivors to share their stories and inspire one another.
"By skydiving, I aim to symbolize the courage it takes to face fears and embrace life after trauma."
In the four days since the GoFundMe page was set up, Dylan has managed to surpass his €5k target and has so far raised €10,655 for the cause.
Dylan has urged the public to keep donating, he said: "Your support can make a real difference. Every donation will go directly to Beyond Surviving, enabling them to continue their important work and reach more survivors who need help.
"Together, we can help others soar to new heights and transform their lives."
The GoFundMe will remain active for two weeks from the day it was originally posted four days ago.
