Mayo landmark features in new Lord of the Rings map

Tolkien's epic series has captured the minds of millions, but which landmark in Mayo is included in the illustration of Ireland as Middle Earth

Which Mayo region features in this 'Lord of the Rings' map?

A popular Mayo landmark has been included in an artist’s transformation of Ireland into the famous ‘Lord of the Rings’ region of Middle Earth.

Belleek Woods, often recognised for the large stone archway at its entrance, is included in Lord of the Rings-inspired depiction Ireland designed by Irish artist Classquatch. The map includes many nods to famous parts of the country, including replacing Galway with ‘Supermacs’ and labelling each province as realms.

Ireland was also labelled as ‘Lord of the Chancers’.

Belleek Woods, which is situated just outside Ballina, got a nod in the illustration, labelled ‘Middle Éire’ which can be seen below:
