To facilitate upgrades in the wake of Storm Éowyn, an emergency outage will be in place in Charlestown this morning

1,000 properties in Mayo town without power

An emergency power outage is in place in Charlestown as the ESB carries out upgrade and safety works in Mayo.

The outage, which is scheduled until 4pm today(February 6), sees 1,000 customers without power until the ESB finishes its repairs.

The work is occurring due to the wide-reaching effects of Storm Éowyn on the energy infrastructure.

Other areas included in the repairs include Carrowkeel, Chaffpool, Curry Village, Doocastle, Leavy, and Sandy Hill.
