The HSE drug service is rolling out a new cannabis treatment programme for those in Mayo worried about their intake

‘Is weed wrecking your head?’ New anti-cannabis plan for Mayo

“Is weed wrecking your head?  Do you want to live life more fully again?”

For those in Mayo who answered yes, those concerned about their cannabis usage can avail of a new HSE service as of this month.

Every week, the HSE Drug Usage programme will be running a weekly two-hour session for those who are looking to change their habits and use of the drug.

The service starts on Wednesday, February 26 in Galway city, and will service those in Mayo, Galway and Roscommon.

The programme is being run by two counsellors from the Galway City Drug Service.

Topics to be covered on the course include changing patterns, dealing with cravings and lapses, and alternatives to cannabis use.

The course runs every Wednesday at 2pm from February 26 to April 16, and more details can be found by contacting the Galway Drug Service at 091864450.
