Appeal for missing Mayo woman Sandra Collins to be made on RTÉ’s Crimecall

Gardaí in Mayo investigating the disappearance and murder of Killala native Sandra Collins will make an appeal on RTÉ Crimecall tonight, (Monday, January 27, 2025). 

Sandra’s brother Patrick, and by Detective Superintendent Frank Finn will make the appeal on RTE Óne when the programme airs at 9.35pm tonight. 

The last confirmed sighting of Ms Collins was on the night of Monday, December 4, 2000 at approximately 11pm at the Country Kitchen premises George’s Street, Killala. She was 28 years of age at the time of her disappearance.

Her fleece was found on the pier in Killala four days later. A half-pound of sausages that she bought in the shop on the day of her disappearance were still in the pocket of the fleece.

Gardaí and Ms Collins’ family are renewing their appeal for information and are asking the public if they have any piece of information which they feel might be relevant to this investigation to make contact with them.

This includes information people might have thought was insignificant at the time.

Anyone who contacts An Garda Síochána will be treated with confidentiality, compassion and sensitivity.

An Garda Síochána continues to liaise closely with the Collins family in relation to this ongoing investigation.
