A PLANNING notice is now on display for Phase 2 of the proposed Abbeyquarter Social Housing Scheme in Ballyhaunis. The details feature plans for the addition of 25 units, comprising of 12 two bedroom units, 9 three bedroom units and 4 four bedroom units.
This development first took shape during John Cribbin’s final tenure as a serving councillor for the area. John, who called it a day last May after 25 years of dedicated and phenomenal service to the people of his region, was replaced on the Council by Alma Gallagher who secured election at her first attempt.
Cllr Gallagher said last week that she had been working closely with Mayo County Council for the past 12 months to ensure the delivery of additional social housing to Ballyhaunis and looked forward to the speedy progression of the development at Abbeyquarter. It is expected that procurement will start in the second quarter of this year.
The planning notice will remain on display until January 28 for any person who wishes to inspect it.
