Four new classrooms have been approved for a west Mayo national school, according to Minister of State, Alan Dillon, TD.
Minister Dillon welcomed the news that approval has been given by the Department of Education for the extension and refurbishment of the existing building at St Colmcille’s NS, located at The Quay in Westport.
Minister Dillon said: “I am pleased to receive confirmation from the Department of Education that initial project approval has been granted to St Colmcille’s for one mainstream classroom and the reconfiguration of another classroom to create three special education teaching rooms.
“I want to congratulate principal Kevin Munnelly, the Board of Management and staff on this successful application which will provide much needed accommodation for this school. I want to wish them the best of luck with this project going forward and have no doubt it will be a welcome addition to the school community.”
