A Status Yellow snow and ice warning has been issued for the whole of Connacht, as well as Leinster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford from 5pm tomorrow until 5pm on Sunday.
Falls of sleet and snow with snowfall accumulations can be expected, which could lead to travel disruption.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Met Éireann senior forecaster Gerry Murphy said the cold weather will continue today with another frosty night in store and temperatures are expected to reach as low as -4C.
