GOAL Mile returns to Castlebar on Christmas Day 

Castlebar people are being encouraged to walk the GOAL Mile in Lough Lannagh on Christmas Day

THE people of Castlebar and the surrounding areas have been asked to step up for communities facing crises around the world by walking the Castlebar GOAL Mile on Christmas Day.

This year’s event will start at 11.15 am and finish at the Lough Lannagh Car Park, Westport Road, Castlebar, around 12.15 pm. The Cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District, Cllr Donna Sheridan, will officially open the event.

All funds raised from the event will support GOAL’s humanitarian efforts across fifteen countries in the Middle  East, Africa, Latin America and Ukraine, where they are currently assisting 25 million people. 

Registration for the Castlebar GOAL Mile is now open at  www.goalmile.org. This year the GOAL mile is once again supported and partnered by AIB.
