The Mayo sibling duo, Simon and Warren Atkins
Mayo sibling duo, Simon Atkins, and Warren Atkins have won an Emmy Award.
Hailing from Castlebar, Simon is a presenter and co-executive producer of hit reality show, ‘The Traitors’, while his brother Warren is a producer on the show.
The pair scooped an Emmy Award last night for their work on season two of the show for US broadcaster ‘Peacock’.
The series won ‘Outstanding Reality Competition Program’ at last night's seventy-sixth annual Primetime Emmy Awards, marking the second Emmy win for the series.
“Winning two Emmy Awards for a show as successful as The Traitors is a dream come true,” said the sibling duo.
“Working in TV is not for the faint-hearted, but it’s an absolute privilege to be able to work with some of the most talented people in the industry and create some of the biggest shows on TV, both in front and behind the camera,” they continued.
The pair at Cannes International Series Festival last year
The critically acclaimed show made up of reality TV royalty came together in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands, to play a game of deceit, treachery and murder.
Hugely popular in the UK and US, it achieved incredible success to become the most-viewed unscripted series in the US.
The Irish/Burmese siblings have been working in the industry for over 15 years.
They have worked on some of the biggest shows in the UK and the US including ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Married At First Sight’, ‘The Voice’, and more, with a plethora of high-profile celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, and Rita Ora.
Additionally, their entrepreneurial reality TV show ‘Ready Set StartUP’ aired on London Live this summer. It is also available on Amazon Prime.
Presented and executive produced by Simon and produced by Warren, the six-part series premiered at Cannes International Series Festival last year.
Rising stars both in front and behind the camera, the sky's the limit for the duo, who have big plans to make more hit series, and are currently in talks with broadcasters both in the UK and the US to do so.
