Irish National Hunt jockey Rachael Blackmore MBE has announced that she will be representing Cancer Fund for Children as a Charity Ambassador.

Plans for a Cancer Fund for Children short-break centre called Daisy Lodge in Cong are currently underway.

Blackmore is ‘proud’ to help raise awareness for the all-island charity.

“The charity is dedicated to helping and supporting children, young people and their families who have been affected by cancer. It’s so important that the great services they provide can be made available to as many families as possible at a time when they need it most,” she continued.

Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social and therapeutic support to children and young people living with cancer, as well as their parents and siblings across the island of Ireland.

This support is provided in the hospital, at home, in the community and at the short-break therapeutic centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, County Down, and soon to be in Cong.

Construction on Daisy Lodge Cong will commence later in the year, with hope to officially open in Spring 2026.
