Family Event with VIP guests to launch new Enable Ireland store in Mayo

The Enable Ireland charity shop in Castlebar has relocated to a new premises on Main Street.

The official opening of Enable Ireland’s new Castlebar store location will take place next Friday, August 23.

The charity shop has been located on Hopkins Road for 25 years, but has now relocated to a larger premises on Mainstreet which will offer even more of pre-loved, new, and vintage treasures.

The opening event is suitable for all the family and will kick off at 12pm in the new Mainstreet store.

Entertainment for all ages, light refreshments, and VIP guests including Mayo football star Matthew Ruane, is just some of what is to look forward to on the day.

Kids young and old are also invited to have their photo taken with Mickey Mouse, and there will be jellies and bubbles on offer for children. 

A ‘golden ticket’ hunt is taking place during the event too, with an array of prizes to be won which have been generously donated by fellow Castlebar Businesses. 

To top off the afternoon’s entertainment, local musicians, Sean Healy and Friends, will be performing traditional music, and all store visitors will receive a 10 percent discount on any items purchased in the new shop.

100 percent of the profits from the Mainstreet shop support local disability services for children and adults with disabilities. 

In Mayo, Enable Ireland runs a Connected Home Support and transport service for children with disabilities. The service provides individual in-home support and group respite sessions, and also provides a transport service to bring children to and from activities in the local area. Approximately 80 children living in Mayo avail of the service, which is based in McHale Business Park.

 Mary Hynes, Enable Ireland Retail Manager, said: “We’re excited to officially launch in our new location in Castlebar and celebrate with our neighbours. Please pop in to say hello and have a browse. There’ll be lots of interesting, high-quality, and stylish treasures to find when you visit.”

 The launch event for Enable Ireland’s new shop on Mainstreet takes place on Friday, August 23 from 12pm.
