Man airlifted following quad bike accident near Liscarney

MAYO Mountain Rescue were called to assist a man who was injured following a quad bike accident at rough terrain near Liscarney, Westport. 
At 3.48 pm yesterday (Thursday, July 18), Mayo Mountain Rescue were contacted by the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to help a male injured in a quad bike accident.
Team members and NAS paramedics were transported to the casualty by local farmers and family. Mountain Rescue team members assisted NAS with casualty packaging before the man was airlifted to Mayo University Hospital by Irish Coast Guard Rescue 118The mountain rescue team was stood down at 4.57 pm.
In a statement, Mayo Mountain Rescue thanked the NAS, Rescue 118, the man's family and local farmers for their assistance and wished the man a speedy recovery.
