Since its inception, Mayo North Tourism has evolved into a community-led destination marketing and development organisation, significantly boosting the local economy through tourism.
Over the past decade, Mayo North Tourism has seen a growth in visitor numbers, a rise in festivals and events, and increased regional spending.
The team has implemented a detailed marketing plan to strategically promote activities and events, generating national and international media coverage, attracting influencers and visiting media, and engaging with an ever-increasing global audience.
Ms Melody Carr expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this success.
“Our achievements over the past ten years would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our stakeholders,” she said. “A special thank you to Moy Valley Resources, Ballina Chamber of Commerce, Ballina Municipal District councils and Mayo County Council for their continuous support,” she said,
Mayo North Tourism also acknowledges the vital role played by its members and the local community.
“Our members have been instrumental in our success, and without their dedication and hard work, our destination would not be what it is for tourists and visitors alike,” added Ms Melody Carr.
These partnerships have developed a vibrant tourism sector that highlights the unique attractions and experiences North Mayo and West Sligo offer.
Looking ahead, Ms Melody Carr emphasised the power of media, especially social media, in connecting with visitors.
“Social media allows us to showcase the stunning landscapes and rich heritage of this area consistently. We want to thank our biggest fans—our followers. Their enthusiasm and support have been the driving force behind our efforts,” she concluded.
