Pat and Ann Keane celebrate Diamond Jubilee

Pat and Ann Keane celebrated their Diamond Jubilee last week.

PAT and Ann Keane from Conloughfad, Claremorris, celebrated their diamond wedding jubilee in recent days. Fr James Quinn celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at the family gathering in honour of the special occasion.

Ann was formerly Murray from Cloonboy and Mayfield. Pat and Ann were married in St Michael’s Church, Taugheen, on Easter Monday, 1964, where Fr Cruise officiated at the ceremony.

Pat and Ann had a family of five. Infant PJ died at the age of six months. Their daughter Pauline (Frainey) died in Balla back in 2018 following an illness.

They were joined for the get-together by their daughter Caroline who came from Liverpool and their sons Michael (Conloughfad) and JP (Mayfield). Also present were sons-in-law Paul Myerscough and Pat Frainey, daughter-in-law Triona, and the six grandchildren, Dylan (Conloughfad), Ella and Jamie (Liverpool), Amy and Hannah (Mayfield) and PJ (Balla).

Pat and Ann are widely known throughout the local rural community and in farming circles. They also have many friends on the dancing and céilí circuits where they have been known to step it out in style on numerous occasions. They were the recipients of many accolades for waltzing and other dances over the years at venues like Frank O’Reilly’s in Ballyvary, Bourke’s of Irishtown, Tierney’s of Foxhall and various other places.

We join with their many friends in congratulating Pat and Ann on this milestone occasion and wishing them all the best in the times ahead.
