Castlebar spring clean-up to take place this week

As part of the National Spring Clean Campaign, Castlebar Tidy Towns are organising a major clean-up.

The clean-ups will take place on the approach roads to Castlebar, with a particular emphasis on the main N5 road.

It is hoped that the various organisations and sports groups within the Castlebar environs together with individuals will help out by participating in this major clean-up. 

The meeting point is at Mulroys Shop Roundabout, Moneen, tomorrow Friday, March 29 (Good Friday) at 9.30 am. 

All volunteers will be provided with litter pickers, hi-vis vests, gloves and bags. 

It is hoped that refreshments will be available afterwards for those that participate in the clean-up. 

In the event of persons not being able to attend the spring clean-up, we would encourage all individuals and residents’ Groups to do a similar clean-up in their own residential areas and the adjoining road network over the coming weeks and months.

This will form part of Castlebar ‘Tidy Towns’ entry into the national ‘Tidy Towns’ competition.
