The 26-year-old will represent Mayo at the festival in Clonmel
Castlebar man Daniel Conway will represent Mayo at the seventeenth annual Mr Personality Festival.
The festival, which is being organised by Kilkenny county Macra na Feirme, will take place April 5 and 6 at The Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.
Macra na Feirme is a voluntary organisation representing a thriving community of 10,000 young people from rural Ireland.
Daniel is 26 years old, active member of Castlebar Macra na Feirme. The Castlebar native has listed his first county meeting as one of his most memorable Macra moments, where Northwest Macra Vice President Rob Lally had the whole room in stitches laughing at a story about a goose.
His hobbies and interests include running, going to the gym, hiking, farming, following Mayo GAA, and listening to a range of music and podcasts.
A man of many talents, Daniel believes he will make a good representative for Mayo because he is a positive, outgoing and approachable person.
He contributes to his club where possible and is an advocate for the great work Macra do in encouraging personal development, making new friends and learning new skills, as he did through Macra.
The weekend will be jam-packed for Daniel, with contestants arriving at The Talbot Hotel at on April 5 and heading out for their first group activity of the weekend shortly after.
Upon their return to the hotel, they will face the on-stage interviews which will be conducted by MC Michelle Heffernan from Beat 102-103 and followed by music from the much-anticipated GAA band, and DJ.
The next morning, contestants will engage in private interviews with the festival’s judges. Following the interviews, contestants have jiving lessons with Niall Doorhy before heading for lunch. After lunch, the challenges will take place and contestants will be put through their paces.
On Saturday evening, Daniel will be donning his suit and meeting with Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services to have their official photos taken.
All this is then by the banquet, which is set to see a very special guest making an appearance. ‘The Loose Canons’ will bring audiences and contestants alike to the dance floor playing hit after hit, until Mr Personality 2024 is announced at midnight.
Tickets for the banquet can be booked by contacting Laura or Michael in The Talbot Hotel.
