Mayo businesses receive several prestigious wedding awards

Businesses in Claremorris, and Castlebar were among those countywide who were recgonised at the weddingsonline awards

The Lodge at Ashford Castle was named Connaught's Hotel Venue of the Year

The annual weddingsonline awards have taken place and Mayo businesses have received recognition.

The awards took place in the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny last night.

From venues to vendors, and DJ’s to drinks, all aspects of a wedding were covered at the awards, with the best in the biz for each category being named.

Stationery Designer of the Year was Jen Murphy, of Jen Murphy Design Studio

T2 Coffee Van was named Best Mobile Supplier of the year for 2024. The ‘super cute’ 1976 Type 2 Volkswagen Camper Van, converted into a fully equipped Espresso Bar, is run by baristas Leo, and travels across county Mayo.

Specialising in local organic barista coffees and award winning treats, the van brings a touch of vintage flair and wow factor to your special day.

Karl McGahon and Aishling McGahon of U2R1 Wedding Cars in Claremorris received the award for transport supplier of the year at the ceremony, while stationery designer of the Year was given to Jen Murphy of Jen Murphy Design Studio in Castlebar.

The Lodge at Ashford Castle’s award for Hotel Venue of the Year Connaught was collected by their wedding and events manager Cora Duggan as well as business and marketing Strategist, Marinda Malin.

Florist of the year was awarded to Balla Florists who unfortunately could not attend the event, but owner Judi Roche shared her gratitude on Facebook and said she is ‘absolutely over the moon’.

“It's a huge recognition for our team and I…We moved our business online a year ago…and winning this award confirms our belief that we can work in a new & exciting way,” she wrote.

The florists have won the weddingsonline florist of the year previously in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
