ATU Mayo's open morning to take place next week

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Mayo open morning is back next week.

The annual event will take place next Wednesday, March 13, from 10am-1pm.

The morning will include talks on various disciplines, virtual simulation experience, workshop and campus tours.

The open morning is for prospective students, parents, and educators to gain information about the range of courses available and career opportunities for graduates.

Current students, lecturers, and staff will answer questions on the range of CAO and other courses available, while ATU Student Support Services will provide information on grants, financial aid, learning support, and disability services.

Vice-President ATU Mayo, Dr Justin Kerr, said they are ‘really excited to offer such a variety of practical activities and information events’ on the day.

Other new and exciting events are the virtual reality experience where visitors can immerse themselves in the future of nursing with cutting-edge virtual reality simulation.

There are also guided campus tours with student ambassadors to explore facilities and the surroundings of the ATU Mayo campus.

“This is an excellent opportunity to experience studying at ATU Mayo and to meet staff and students. We are looking forward to welcoming prospective students to explore their new university” concluded Mr Kerr.

A number of short lectures on numerous disciplines will be given. The titles of the series of short lectures are as follows:

Psychology: Unravel the wonders of the human mind through live experiments and informative sessions.

Nursing: Explore fundamental principles and engage in interactive activities simulating real-world healthcare scenarios.

Outdoor and Environmental Education: Scale new heights with climbing wall experiences and outdoor equipment tours.

Early Childhood Education & Care: Step into the world of early years learning with studio tours and interactive workshops.

Applied Social Care: Gain insights into working with youths and participate in engaging discussions on relevant topics.

History & Geography: Explore the rich tapestry of human history and geographical wonders from expert educators guiding you through immersive lectures and engaging activities.
