It no surprise Croagh Patrick made the list
Ireland’s top walking trails and hikes have been revealed, and of course Croagh Patrick made an appearance on the list.
The iconic trail in Glaspatrick, just outside Westport, is a very popular hike.
Each year, The Reek, as it is colloquially known, attracts about 1 million pilgrims each year.
Croagh Patrick is Ireland's holy mountain, from where St Patrick is said to have banished the snakes from Ireland.
At the top of the mountain there is a white chapel.
Individuals and groups come from all over the world and include pilgrims, hikers, historians, and nature lovers.
Betfair Casino drafted up the list of the best walking spots in Ireland, with the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare sitting high above the competition.
The popularity of each location was measured by a unique index score, which is based on Trip Advisor rankings, as well as Instagram hashtags and views - with the lower the overall index score, the higher the ranking.
