Seamus Heaney exhibition comes to Westport House

New exhibition inspired by the work of Seamus Heaney to be launched this week

Revered poet Seamus Heaney

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Seamus Heaney's literary legacy: “Listen Now Again” is the name of the current exhibition presented by the National Library of Ireland.

Westport House proudly hosts this highly acclaimed exhibition, which has garnered widespread acclaim for its exploration of the revered Irish poet Seamus Heaney's life and work.

The exhibition draws on the extensive archive that Seamus Heaney and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011. Heaney's own writing desk is the focal point of the experience, with original manuscripts, diary entries, photographs, personal artefacts and multimedia recordings painting a fascinating picture.

Scheduled to run from February 1 to February 18, the exhibition will be housed in the historic Long Gallery on the ground floor of Westport House.

There is no need to book in advance, tickets for this literary celebration are available to walk-in visitors at the front door of Westport House. Included is a visit of the main floor of Westport House at no additional cost.

The official launch event is scheduled to take place in Westport House on Thursday, February 1, from 5pm to 6pm, with the director of the National Library of Ireland, Audrey Whitty, in attendance. The launch is an open event, and all are welcome.
