Claudia Healy won first prize for her brown bread at the Tullamore Show.
Claudia Healy from Kelly’s Kitchen café in Newport came up tops in the bread baking section at the recent Tullamore Agricultural Show. The talented baker from Glooha, Glenamoy, Ballina won the Irish Farmhouse Brown Bread competition beating off rivals from all over the country.
Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show is the Premier Livestock Show in Ireland and attracts entries from all over the country. Agriculture was originally the show's main focus but this has broadened considerably over the years to adapt to Ireland's changing culture. However Tullamore Show still promotes an enhanced awareness and positive appreciation of our heritage traditions and way of life.
Kelly’s Kitchen is run by Shauna Kelly, daughter of renowned butcher Seán Kelly and located in Newport town beside the family butcher shop. Last year they were proud winners of the Georgina Campbell Breakfast Awards in the Café section.
It’s the cosy café that locals love and visitors dream of and now there’s yet another reason to try it out. Call in for the excellent cooking, home baking and the best cup of coffee on the Wild Atlantic Way.
