Uisce Éireann and Mayo County Council have successfully completed repairs following a water main burst in Aughagower.
It took a considerable effort to identify the burst, but once it was located crews quickly repaired it.
Water will be restored to most of the affected customers in Knappagh Beg, Lankill areas later this evening, but it could be tomorrow before the network refills and a normal water supply returns to customers in the Aughagower area.
Water tankers will remain in Aughagower village until the water supply is fully restored in the area.
Colette Scahill, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, thanked customers for their patience while work was underway.
“We understand the inconvenience an outage can have on customers, and we appreciate their co-operation.”
