Recently the Westport Daffodil Day Committee made a presentation of €21,703 (proceeds of our March Daffodil Day collection) to Ms Mary Murray of the Irish Cancer Society. Sincere thanks to all who volunteered their time and contributed in any way to the outstanding success of this year’s fundraising effort.
The Irish Cancer Society funds life-changing cancer research projects and provides free support and care to cancer patients and their loved ones across Ireland. They typically receive just 3 percent of their funding from the Government, so it’s thanks to the generosity of wonderful donors, partners, fundraisers, and volunteers that they can provide services and support to ensure nobody in Ireland has to face cancer alone.
“Your incredible support and generosity will continue to bring real and lasting benefits to the lives of cancer patients, survivors, and their families,” said Mary Murray, Irish Cancer Society Midwest Community Fundraising Officer. “With the continued support of volunteers like the Westport committee, local businesses, and the public, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of people affected by cancer in Ireland.”
