A Westport yoga teacher is holding two yoga days to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland.
Stretch and unwind for MS
On Saturday, March 20 and Saturday, April 24, yoga teacher Caitriona Flanagan will host ‘Yoga Days’ in Cloona Health Retreat, Westport. Caitriona is raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland. Her target is €3,900. In June, Caitriona will walk the ancient pilgrimage route of St James known as the Camino de Santiago, covering over 300k in ten days. This requires huge commitment, both to raise the required sponsorship and to train for this challenging walk. All the proceeds from the yoga days – which promise to be both invigorating and relaxing – will go to the MS charity. Each day will start off with a two-hour yoga and breathing session followed by a nutritious vegetarian lunch. After a refreshing stroll in the countryside, the day will continue with a deep relaxation and introductory meditation class. The courses, which run from 10am to 5pm, are open to everyone, so why not treat yourself and help support a very worthy cause. The resourceful Caitriona has also organised a ‘Hooley Mór’ in McGing’s Pub, High Street, Westport, on Friday, March 19 to raise more funds. The night will see a host of renowned musicians and singers entertain the crowds from 5pm to 9pm. Among the artists slated to appear are Mary and Greg Cotter of The Crane Bar, Galway; flute players SeΡn and Irene Maloney; Eilish ‘Fiddle’ O’Connor; Liz Kane, Connie Cullen, Mary Finn and many more. Again all proceeds from the night will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland. To find out more, or to book a place on one of the yoga days, call Caitriona on 087 7990640.
