The Rude Health expo 2011, taking place in Dublin’s RDS this weekend, is a great chance to meet the health experts
Rude Health show to attract a crowd
No, it’s not an Irish version of Channel 4’s ‘Embarrassing Bodies’, it’s an annual health expo that takes place in Dublin’s RDS – and this year’s event takes place this Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11. Rude Health is the place to get questions answered. Attendees can meet experts face to face, and get the chance to try out new products and ideas, experiment, sample and taste. The RDS in Ballsbridge will be filled to capacity, with a total of 125 engaging exhibitors and a vast array of knowledgeable, inspirational and experienced speakers from around the world, including Prof Jane Plant, Scientist and Author on cancer recovery; Patrick Holford, one of the top nutritionists in the UK; Dr Eva Orsmond, Ireland’s obesity specialist (of Operation Transformation fame); Dr Marilyn Glenville, expert on hormones and women’s health; Jan De Vries, world-renowned pharmacist and naturopath; and Bernadette Bohan, well-being expert and author on cancer recovery. You’ll find information on all sorts of topics – restoring and maintaining health and well-being in a natural way, obesity, children’s health, natural skin care, cholesterol, diabetes, cancer recovery and prevention, heart disease, asthma, anxiety and sleep problems, meditation, relaxation, seaweed cookery and raw food. The expo also includes a series of lectures and workshops. Derval Dunford, who runs Sui Mindfulness Meditation & Relaxation in Westport (courses begin tomorrow night (Wednesday) if you’re interested), will be at the show, flying the flag for Mayo health. She will be talking about her personal experience of recovery, and the enormous part that Mindfulness Meditation and Relaxation plays in her life. Tickets for the Rude Health expo cost €12 (Pensioners €8; children go free).
