EVER POPULAR Galway songwriting trio, The Whileaways.
Westport Town Hall Theatre is set to welcome The Whileaways back to its stage on Friday, August 23, at 7.30pm.
Since forming in 2012, this trio of songwriters have released four critically acclaimed albums. Three powerful forces in Irish roots music in their own right, The Whileaways are Noelie McDonnell, Noriana Kennedy and Nicola Joyce, each accomplished singers who have toured and recorded extensively with their separate projects before coming together as a band.
This is a unique combination of songwriters, singers and voices, whose enthralling live performances have secured their firm footing in Irish roots music. Instinctive sibling-like harmonies, captivating lyrics and melodies mark The Whileaways’ sound, which has been described as ‘perfected simplicity’, while the band has been hailed as ‘masters of arrangement and song-writing’ (Irish Echo).
