BOURKE’s of Irishtown will host a special show on Friday night, June 4, when Pat Jordan and Finian’s Rainbow stop by from Manchester. Joining them for this big night of country dancing will be Kevin Prendergast and Lisa Stanley.
Pat Jordan has been in the music business for 35 years and has remained up there amongst the best when it comes to Irish/country music and entertainment. With eight successful albums to his name, Pat and the band receive regular radio airplay and have won several awards. They were awarded Best Band on the UK Irish Circuit in an Irish World poll.
Pat and the band appeared in ITV’s ‘Cold Feet’, which starred James Nesbitt, and in the film ‘My Beautiful Son’, which starred Julie Walters and American actor Paul Risler.
A native of Wicklow, Pat is a regular on the Enjoy Travel trips to Spain, Portugal and Ibiza. He is also performing at the special festival in the Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone in the middle of June.
One of his best-known songs in this part of the country is ‘You’re a Phone Call That I Need To Make’. In recent weeks, Pat has released another new album, featuring the popular song, ‘Rose of My Heart’.
Local singer Kevin Prendergast, a long time friend of Pat’s from his years in Manchester, will also perform a guest spot on the show. Kevin’s annual party night will be held on the last Friday night of July at the same venue.
Lisa Stanley is assured of a very warm welcome when she returns to Irishtown on Friday night. She went down a real treat on her first show in Irishtown at the St Patrick’s Eve hooley. Just back from Ibiza where she received a standing ovation, Lisa is delighted with the upswing of interest in her career.
The show gets under way around 9.45pm and should prove a popular destination for country music followers.
