Galway musicians will play in the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, Clifden, tomorrow to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity.
Connemara talent converges for fundraiser
Connemara’s finest musical talent will gather to perform in the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, Clifden, Co Galway tomorrow night (Wednesday), April 28, to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity. ‘A Musical Night’ will feature fiddle playing legend, Frankie Gavin and singer Michelle Lally; Matt and SeΡn Keane from the great traditional Irish music Keane Dynasty; and All-Ireland talent show finalists John O’Halloran and Emma O’Sullivan. The concert is being organised by producer of ‘The Late Late Show’, Michael Kealy, and Abbeyglen Castle Hotel Manager, Brian Hughes. Michael will travel to Northern Zambia in June to begin a ‘Habitat for Humanity’ project there. The project will involve constructing basic housing for widows and orphans of people who have died from AIDS. Michael said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the best traditional Irish musical talent in one concert, and at the same to raise funds for a very important project. I am extremely grateful to all the acts who are performing free of charge, and also to the Abbeyglen for providing the perfect venue.” The night starts at 9pm, and tickets will be available at the door of the Abbeyglen for €15. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed.
