Fresh Evidence to take a final bow

MUSIC Fresh Evidence will play their final gig in Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, August 4, at 8pm

LAST HURRAH Fresh Evidence will call it a day with one last gig in Westport this Saturday.

After a sell-out concert in the venue in August 2016, Fresh Evidence will play their final gig in Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, August 4, at 8pm. After playing throughout Ireland for the past three years, the members have decided to go their separate ways – and go out with a bang in the place where it all started, Westport.
Fresh Evidence cut their teeth playing gigs across Mayo, supporting such acts as the British acid-blues band Alabama 3, iconic Irish guitarist Pat McManus and Irish rock band The Strypes.
When not rocking in Westport, Fresh Evidence enjoyed gigs in Donegal, at the prestigious International Rory Gallagher Festival, where their audience grew year by year. The also have a widespread fan-base throughout Northern Ireland, thanks to appearances in Belfast, including the Wilgar Blues and Rock Festival and Ulster City Hall. They also played many times further south in a vast array of venues and festivals like the Chickenstock Blues Festival in Clonmel.
For their final gig, they will be joined by up-and-coming Westport star Sadhbh Hanks. Hanks’ repertoire includes a wide range of styles and genres, from Stevie Wonder to contemporary pop music to superb original songs. The singer’s astonishingly accomplished piano and guitar playing and uniquely powerful voice are fast gaining traction.
Fresh Evidence’s set will feature classics from the band, instantly recognisable to anyone who has been one of their gigs, as well as new material that pushes the boundary of the blues-Rock genre to enter exciting new territory.
The band hopes you can head to  Westport Town Hall Theatre to share with them their love love of music for one last time.

Tickets available on the door; admission €10/€5.
