Following a winter of rehearsals the Mayo Male Voice Choir takes to the stage in the GMIT Castlebar at 8pm on this Friday, April 20, for their annual springtime concert.
Joined by the renowned baritone Rory Musgrave and soprano Sinéad Campbell-Wallace, the choir will perform traditional Irish melodies like ‘The Wild Mountain Thyme’ and ‘Down By The Sally Gardens’ as well as more light hearted pieces from the pen of Stephen Foster. The choir, under the baton of Deirdre Lee, will also draw from the world of popular, contemplative and spiritual music.
After this concert, the choir will go on to compete in the Bangor International Choral Festival in County Down on Friday, April 27. The festival attracts choirs from all over Europe and, as in the past, the Mayo Male Voice Choir plans to do the county proud.

Admission to this Friday’s Mayo Male Voice Choir concert is €15.
