Damo and Duke on Bofin for arts festival

The Inishbofin Arts Festival – a colourful and eclectic mix of music, visual art, craft, heritage, dance and fun family activities – takes place this weekend, Friday, May 1, to Sunday, May 3.
On Friday night, the festival will be officially opened with a wine and cheese reception and trad music session. On Saturday night, Damien Dempsey returns to play on the island. The Dub has played a few gigs on Inishbofin before, and the festival organisers are thrilled to have him play at this larger-scale event.
On Sunday, Belfast bard Duke Special will take to the stage. He has just released a new album, ‘Look out Machines’, so the audience can expect to be treated to some new material as well as older gems.
Other festival events include poetry, sean nós dancing, a market celebrating Inishbofin’s finest food and craft, a children’s fete and a science workshop. There will also be craft workshops and a walk with local historian, Tommy Burke, as well as a rare chance to visit Bofin’s neighbouring and uninhabited island of Inishark, where you can explore the untouched landscape and hear the corncrake call.
Inishbofin is an ideal, intimate setting for live music and creative arts. With a limited supply of tickets, and to guarantee a memorable and unique weekend, book your tickets for Inishbofin Community Arts Festival now.
