Custom House Studios is holding a special public-participation printmaking event for International Day of Disabled Persons
Make prints at Custom House
Custom House Studios is holding a special public-participation printmaking workshop for International Day of Disabled Persons 2012. The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for participants to work in an integrated atmosphere with members of the general public. Custom House Studios operates a very successful visual arts workshop programme for service users of Carrowbeg Enterprises, who come along every Tuesday for workshops on printmaking. The workshops are facilitated by artist GrΡinne O’Reilly, with assistance from Caroline Masterson. The workshops focus on giving encouragement and support for the participants, who have intellectual disabilities, helping them to develop their own expression and imagery using different techniques. The special workshop on International Day of Disabled Persons 2012 (Monday, December 3) will start at 11am and run throughout the day, and members of the public are invited to drop along at any time and get printing. The event will be facilitated by Caroline Masterson and Grainne O Reilly and is supported by Western Care and Mayo County Council Arts Office. This is a great opportunity to attend the print studio and engage in printmaking alongside the Carrowbeg artists. Anyone interested is welcome to take part. Works produced during the day will be exhibited in the Custom House Studio for one week. For more details, call 098 28735.
