‘The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down’, written and directed by Padraic McIntyre, is set in a rural pub in County Cavan on a stormy ST Stephen’s Night. Locals gather to celebrate the 60th Birthday of The Horse Munley, but as the storm worsens and people head home, a knock on the door brings the nights entertainment to a new level.
McIntyre’s play features a host of characters that people will easily identify with, although each with their own story to tell.
As the play unfolds, so too does the music and craic. Featuring live music and the talented John O Grady as Joe Dolan, this play is a treat for all theatre and music lovers alive.
Mixing comedy, drama and music The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down promises an night of fun and a chance for legions of Joe Dolan fans to revisit a ‘Joe Show’. The play will be staged on Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30, at The Royal Theatre, Castlebar.
