TooDog Theatre presents two one-act comedies, ‘Bardot Bites’ and ‘Lucy Bastible’, at the Linenhall this Thursday.
Laughs on the double
Looking for a laugh? Well, TooDog Theatre presents a comedy double-bill of fresh new one-act plays, ‘Bardot Bites’ and ‘Lucy Bastible’, at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar this Thursday, March 24, at 8pm. The leads in both pieces are played by the versatile Denise Quinn. In the light-hearted comedy ‘Bardot Bites’, we meet 45-year-old Bid, who has led a sheltered life looking after her ailing mother. When the mother dies, Bid is catapulted into the world of work, with a job on the cheese counter in the local deli, where she learns not just about the ways of cheese, but also about the ways of men. ‘Lucy Bastible’, on the other hand, tells the tale of a privileged woman whose world is rocked to its foundations when her husband, Jeremy, strays away from home. In this darkly comic one-act play, Lucy gives us a glimpse into her crumbling world and psyche as she seeks vengeance. Both plays are also written by Quinn, and they are directed by Mary Curtin.
