Cancer Fund for Children has announced a fundraising hike up Croagh Patrick, this coming Saturday, May 23.

Located in County Mayo, the mountain is both a renowned pilgrimage site and a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It typically takes between three and five hours to complete.

Speaking about the challenge, Aoife Malone, Cancer Support Specialist with Cancer Fund for Children, said:

“Every week across the island of Ireland, approximately 10 children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer.

“As a Cancer Support Specialist, my role is to provide these children and their families with emotional, social, and therapeutic support so they feel equipped to cope with their diagnosis and the impact it has on their lives,” she added.

The money raised through this challenge will enable the rest of my team and me to continue providing this support, in the family home, in hospital, and at Cancer Fund for Children’s therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge.
