Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for counties including Mayo this weekend.
Storm Dave is set to hit the country on Saturday, March 4, from 2pm and will be in place until 11pm.
Met Éireann has said the storm will bring strong southerly winds, veering westerly by the evening, with severe gusts and coastal gales.

Possible impacts include some fallen trees, branches, wave overtopping, and difficult travel conditions.
A weather advisory will be in place across the country, with unsettled and mixed weather across Easter.
Met Éireann has said coastal flooding is likely, especially around high tide times and in exposed, low-lying locations along the Atlantic coastal counties.
The weather advisory is in place from 12:00 am Friday, April 3 and will be in place until Tuesday, April 7 at 12 am.
