Mayo County Council has been allocated €609,000 to fund local projects in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
Communities selected under this strand will partner with the Council to implement their proposed initiatives.

The programme, which is in partnership with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, is set to support both small and large, rural and urban communities in developing projects that reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability at a local level.
This Programme is an opportunity for groups to take a holistic approach to making their community less carbon-intensive and more sustainable for the future. The Programme is open to a range of community groups – from those new to climate action to those with more experience.

Applications open on October 18, 2025, and will close on December 12, 2025, at 5 pm.
