Mayo INMO industrial action stood down

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has confirmed that planned industrial action by nurses in the emergency department in Mayo University Hospital has been stood down. The action was due to begin today, November 3.

The INMO has confirmed that, following negotiations at the Workplace Relations Commission, emergency department nurses in Mayo University Hospital have suspended the planned action.

INMO Assistant Director of Industrial Relations for the West, Colm Porter, said:

“Through the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission, the HSE has brought proposals that seek to resolve the issues at the heart of this dispute, namely inadequate staffing and persistently incomplete rosters.

“INMO members have stood down their planned action to allow a ballot on the proposals to take place.”
