With mid-term holidays in full swing and Halloween just around the corner, there is no shortage of events taking place around Mayo.
Here's what to do in the county this Halloween.
Halloween at the Jackie Clarke Museum
Where: The Jackie Clarke Museum, Ballina
When: Tuesday, October 28 - Thursday, October 30.
Time: 6:00–7:15 pm & 7:30–8:45 pm
Children aged 5-12 can discover how Halloween began in Ireland over 2,000 years ago through storytelling, games, and hands-on activities. Tickets are €15 per child, and fancy dress is encouraged.
A Scare in the Museum - Storytelling Tours
Where: National Museum of Ireland - Turlough Park
When: Wednesday, October 29 - Friday, October 31
Time: 1:00 pm, 1:45 pm, 2:30 pm & 3:30 pm
Families can join curator and storyteller Hannah Gallagher for a family-friendly journey through the museum’s exhibits. Admission is free and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Halloween Crafts at the Museum
Where: National Museum of Ireland - Turlough Park
When: Wednesday, October 29 - Friday, October 31
Time: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Lindsay McConnell, Carmel Balfe, and Isolde Dingerkus will host Halloween sessions across three days, including puppet making and origami. Admission is free and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Céide’s Crafty Halloween Day
Where: Céide Fields Neolithic Site and Visitor Centre
When: Friday, October 31
Time: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
The day begins with Spooky Crafts from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a talk at 1 pm, and ends with face painting from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Cong Halloween parade
When: Friday, October 31
Where: Main Car Park, Cong Village, Mayo
Time: 6:30 pm
The 8th annual Cong Halloween Parade will take place again this Halloween, featuring decorations, lights, and costumes throughout the streets of Cong.
