Ballintubber's star man Cillian O'Connor was in fine form as he kicked 1-8 against Moy Davitts
MAYO SFL DIVISION 1B
Ballintubber 2-22
Moy Davitts 0-12
In Clogher
An impressive performance from Damien Coleman’s side saw them power to victory as they made light work of a weakened Moy Davitts side on Friday night.
The leading scorer in inter-county football history, Cillian O’Connor was in sublime form as he kicked a fine tally of 1-8 while his inside forward colleague Stephen O’Malley kicked 1-7 which all came from play in what turned out to be an outstanding exhibition of kicking.
The hosts dominated right from the off as Jason Gibbons and Diarmuid O’Connor caught the eye in the midfield area while 'Tubber seemed to play with a great energy across the hour and the movement from the forwards was exceptional at times.
Moy Davitts struggled although the forward trio of Brian Reape, Brian Heneghan and Ronan Clarke caused the senior side problems at times. Clarke kicked half his side’s scores as the former Mayo underage star accounted for six, including two fine two pointers.
The visitors were punished for poor discipline in the first half when they broke the three-up rule not once, not twice, but three times and Cillian O’Connor pointed from short range. Paul McGarry’s side trailed 1-9 to 0-4 at the interval.

Ballintubber kicked on in the second half thanks to the O’Connor brothers and O’Malley contributing to the scoreboard as the accurate Ciaran Gavin also tagged on fine scores.
Physical attacker Brian Reape created goal chances for Moy Davitts with his directness but the visitors ultimately couldn't get past Brendan Walsh in nets. This was a comfortable win for Ballintubber and Moy Davitts will no doubt have brighter days ahead when they get back to something approaching full strength.
