The cheapest place in Ireland to avail of car insurance has been revealed.
In County Mayo, the average cost is €671 as it comes in at the sixth cheapest in Ireland. Last year, Mayo had the 11th cheapest so the drop in average prices represents a price drop for Mayo drivers.
County Kilkenny has been announced as the cheapest county in Ireland for car insurance as the average price is €629, while Longford is seen as the most expensive with the average price coming in at €1,042.
Across Ireland’s four provinces, Connacht is seen to be the cheapest with the average costing €689 while drivers in Ulster pay an average of €796 as it results in the most expensive province.

Usually, insurance costs start to decline after three years with a 27% reduction evident.
The Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tuscon and Skoda Octavia are seen to be the most affordable to insure while all three are ever so popular with road users.
