Gardaí in Mayo make shocking discovery over Bank Holiday weekend

Gardaí in Mayo made a shocking discovery over the bank holiday while carrying out speed checks.

The Mayo Roads Policing Unit were carrying out routine checks along the N17 when they clocked a car going 166km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Gardaí stopped the car and following a roadside drug test the motorist tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.

The driver was subsequently arrested and court is to follow.
