Minister of State Dara Calleary TD travelled to the north Mayo Gaeltacht on Monday evening to open the new Údarás na Gaeltachta gteic@Corrán Buí.

The gteic@Corrán Buí is a digital hub situated in Rossport that provides modern workspace for the local community and the new centre will be run by Seirbhísí Cúram Chill Comáin Teo. This new facility will offer employment and development opportunities for the people of Corrán Buí and surrounding areas.

The official opening took place on Monday evening in Rossport with a number of speakers including Minister Calleary and the CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta, Tomás Ó Siocháin.

Celia Gallagher, Manager of Seirbhísí Cúram Chill Comáin Teo was also among the speakers where she commented on how the new digital hub will entire the whole Gaeltacht community.

“We strongly believe that this centre will greatly contribute to the economic and social development of the area. We are committed to developing this facility as a hub of innovation and creativity for the local community. It will also enable us to expand and improve our care services, which will benefit the entire community,” she said.

Údarás na Gaeltachta CEO Tomás Ó Siocháin added: “We are very pleased to see gteic@Corrán Buí officially opening. This new centre demonstrates our commitment to sustainable development of the Gaeltacht and creating high-quality employment opportunities in the area. We strongly believe that this centre will greatly contribute to the economy and vitality of the area, enabling people to work and live in their own community.”

The gteic@Corrán Buí will provide a wide range of services, including co-working spaces, meeting rooms, and state-of-the-art technology facilities. It will be a valuable resource for local businesses, remote workers, and entrepreneurs in the area.
