The charity swim for Roonagh Pier to Clare Island due to take place on Sunday has been postponed until later this month

Mayo charity swim cancelled due to safety concern

The swim was meant to take place tomorrow

The charity Swim from Roonagh Pier to Clare Island has been cancelled due to safety concerns.

The safety team took the decided to cancel the swim for the 'safety for all involved'.

The charity swim to raise money for Order of Malta and Cystic Fribrosis Ireland was set to go ahead tomorrow, Sunday August 11.

The next date which will be considered and a formal decision taken closer to the time is Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The organised of the swim expressed gratitude to all participants for understanding, as well as for all the fundraising done to this point.
