The Achill Experience Aquarium and Visitor Centre expansion was officially opened by Michael Ring TD

Mayo Fine Gael TD, Michael Ring travelled to Achill this morning to officially opening the newly expanded Achill Experience.

The Achill Experience Aquarium and Visitor Centre first opened in April 2016 after the board of Comhlacht Forbartha Áitiúil Acla recognised the need for an all-weather attraction in the area. Since then it has continued to expand and eight years on, phase four of the Achill experience consists of a newly expanded aquarium and visitor centre with upgraded features and many more creatures, promising fun for all ages.

Deputy Michael Ring stated that he was delighted to be invited to officially open the newly expanded Achill Experience describing it as a truly fantastic facility which is testament to the hard work of the Achill Local Development Company and a wonderful community.

“This newly expanded facility is well worth a visit. The Achill Experience has been going from strength to strength

“The newly expanded Aquarium and Visitor Centre has new features, many more creatures and fun for all the family. It is an excellent indoor visitor experience and provides a wonderful option for visitors during inclement weather.

“The Achill Experience Aquarium and Visitor Centre is a very important tourism offering in Achill. The Achill Experience Development will enable continued visitor growth on Achill, which will have a positive impact on the local economy and employment.

“I would like to once again congratulate all those who have organised and supported this project from the beginning. I wish Achill Experience Aquarium and Visitor Centre continued success into the future,” concluded Deputy Michael Ring.
