Avondale House in the centre of Mulranny to open as self catering accommodation
A FORMER pub in the centre of Mulranny has been converted into self catering accommodation which will be open for business at the start of March.
Avondale House in the west Mayo village of Mulranny has been renovated in recent months and converted and fully refurbished with 14 bedroom self catering accommodation.
The building was recently purchased by Gerry and Angela Grealis who run a number of pubs in London and will be run by their daughter Clara Grealis Henry.
The building was formerly known as Josie Moran's pub and was a very popular pub in the 50s and 60s when it was run by Josie and Florrie Moran until it closed over 25 years ago. Their son Patrick Moran who was a prominent Circuit Court judge based in Cork owned the building until it was sold following his death in 2021.
In recent months the building has gone under an extensive renovation and is now fully refurbished with 14 bedroom self catering accommodation along with four kitchen stations, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Avondale will be opening for business on March 1 and operate as an Airbnb / self catering accommodation and the new owners hope that it will bring more tourism and employment to the village.
