Mayo Day heads to the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way in Belmullet

Mayo Day will celebrate ten years this year in Belmullet as the flagship event of Home to Mayo 2024 and part of the Belmullet 200 festivities.

Make sure you get to the wild northwest coast on Saturday, May 4 when the celebration of all things Mayo and this year Belmullet, takes over the town for day to remember for years to come.

Belmullet was chosen as the destination of this years Mayo Day flagship event to tie in with the Belmullet 200 anniversary and following on from the success of Mayo Day 2023 which took place in Ballina, another fantastic fun day our for the family in north Mayo is being planned.

Since its inception in 2015 Mayo Day has become the flagship event for Mayo people all over the world to celebrate their Mayo history, heritage, and pride.

Owing to its stunning seaside location in the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, Belmullet promises to offer you everything you’ve loved about Mayo Day over the last decade and so much more, with the sea and the beautiful, rugged coastline of the Erris region taking centre stage in the festivities.

All your favourite parts of Mayo Day’s past including a brilliant line up of music, food, arts, crafts, history, heritage, and family fun will still be part of the big day.

A top-class line up of musical talent will be on hand to entertain the masses – the full line up of artists including the headline act will be revealed soon.

With so many top-class food and craft businesses in the county, Mayo Day is the perfect day to sample the best of locally produced craft and food offerings from the county.

So, with that in mind Mayo County Council are putting a call out to food and craft businesses who are interested in taking part in Mayo Day to register their interest with us now.
