Launch and Recruitment for the second year of Croagh Patrick’s Ambassador Volunteer Programme will close this week.
The Croagh Patrick Ambassador Programme officially launched for a second year running earlier this month, however applications will close on Wednesday, January 31.
The programme aims to increase public awareness regarding the importance of care and respect for our natural heritage. It empowers positive behavioural changes and developing skills around outdoor recreation so that locals and visitors can continue to enjoy and protect Croagh Patrick and its surrounds.
They will recruit twelve new Ambassadors to join the programme for 2024. The chosen applicants will receive bespoke training on the natural and cultural heritage of the mountain, as well as receiving information on how the programme is working to promote responsible and sustainable access to Croagh Patrick.
The training will include certified Leave No Trace Ireland courses, enabling the Ambassadors to help visitors to Croagh Patrick appreciate the importance of preserving the wealth of heritage the area is home to.
